Weekly Update January 12th, 2017

Off

Greetings Life Community,

I hope you have had a wonderful week.

I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped with the feeding of The KWC track team. It was a lot of fun and we were able to present the gospel to several college kids. We were also very thankful to have them worshipping with us on Sunday morning. Thanks to all who served and helped out.

The message last Sunday dealt with caring for people through financial giving. I have always been impressed with the sacrificial giving of Life Community Church. On Sunday, I challenged the church to give their whole tithe (10% of their income) as an act of worship before the Lord. We believe that God will honor your sacrificial giving and that you will never be able to out give God. We so believe that, if you feel that God has not blessed you in a three month time period ( we’re not talking about random checks in the mail, rolexes dropping out of the sky, or gold being discovered in your back yard, but his provision and care over you) we will give your money back to you if you would like for us to. We believe that God wants to do great things in this church; such as the hiring of an associate pastor, remodeling our auditorium, and starting new ministries (which all require finances) and he will use us to accomplish these task by his grace.

Take a few moments to read about what is happening in the life of our church

Night To Shine Training is this weekend ( Friday at 6pm and Saturday at 2:30pm) . If you have signed up to help with Night to Shine it is necessary to go through this training in order to serve. If you still have not signed up to help with Night to Shine we would encourage you to volunteer, especially as a “BUDDY” who escorts the attendee around the event and will just have a lot of fun! You can volunteer by clicking here.

Life Group sign ups are in full swing. Groups will begin the week of January 29th. We want to encourage everyone to sign up for a group. You can learn more about what group to sign up for by clicking here.

This upcoming Sunday Night our men’s ministry will be meeting at Life Community at 6pm.

Our annual Chili Cook off will take place, January 21st on a Saturday, at Life Community Church. This annual event is a lot of fun! We encourage you to bring a pot of chili and enter into the competition. We also want you to bring a friend with you too as we will be presenting the Gospel.

Financial Peace University Classes will be beginning on Sunday nights (4-6pm) on January 22nd. If you have not yet signed up for it and would like to attend, I would encourage you to do so quickly in order to get your materials in time. You can register for FPU by clicking here.

Our yearly mission trip to NYC will be held on July 15th-22nd. We will be having a NYC mission info night on Wednesday the 25th at 6:30 pm.

Class 401 will be held this weekend at 2:45. There will be a 501 L.I.F.E. (Leadership In Faith and Encouragement) held for all 401 graduates on January 29th at 5pm. If you have completed all the classes I hope you can make it out on that evening.

Mark you calendars for Friend and Family Sunday on February 19th. You’ll hear more about this coming up, but it’s our annual invite your neighbor day to LCC. Especially those neighbors and family who are unchurched and do not know The Lord.

Finally, be in prayer for our deacon body. Back in August, our deacons took suggestions for potential new deacon candidates and prayerfully looked through those. Given that our church was going through a season of transition, they did not feel that bringing forward a new name, during that time, was the best course of action (due to change and ordination requirements). However, they are considering the names that were suggested back in August and may potentially bring forward one of those name from that list in our February Family meeting on February 26th.
It is an exciting time in the life of our church. Let’s continue to seek God’s face with humble and cooperative attitudes in the Spirit of Christ as we pray and call on His name.

It is a pleasure to be your pastor.

Kenny Rager
