LCC Update 1-31-18

Off

Greetings Life Community Church,

I hope you are having a fantastic week in the Lord! God began this week in a powerful way with people uniting with the church and giving their lives to Christ. I believe we are about to see a significant movement of the Holy Spirit of God in our church. Let’s keep seeking his face and his will during this time of transition for our church.

Just a few updates:

*The church voted to move forward with the renovations of the older portion of the building. We know this was a step of faith, as it will require us to increase giving and be committed to weekly tithes and offerings, and we eagerly anticipate moving into the auditorium. The vision team will be posting updates on the renovation on the “renovation” tab on our website (www.lifeowensboro.com). Check the website often for updates and communication. We are currently in the process of getting everything ready for the loan.

*Our annual “Friends and Family Day” is coming February 18th. Friends and Family Day is always a great day as we invite our neighbors, friends, and family to worship with us on that particular Sunday morning. I want to encourage you to pack the place out! I especially want to challenge the 9 AM service to bring as many people as you can. We will be beginning a new sermon series that day, which will be a great jumping on point for many people. Remember, to spend time with your “Friends and Family” after the service, offer to go out to eat with them or to have them over to your homes.

* Our annual Chili Cook-off had to be postponed to February the 24th, due to cold weather and ice. The Chili Cook-Off is a great outreach event! We want you to bring your best pot of chili and someone that is unchurched. We will be sharing the Gospel that evening and having a lot of fun. We will also be making a concentrated effort to engage our neighborhood (surrounding the church) for the event. Sam Williams, who serves on the outreach team, will be having some more information coming forth about canvassing the neighborhood for this event.

*The semi-annual Family meeting of the church will be held on 6 pm on February 25th. We will be giving updates on finances, teams, ministries, and more. If you have any new business that you would like to be considered for the agenda, please send that to mary@lifeowensboro.com before February 9th.

It seems like we have a lot of “annual” stuff in February! With that said, I am thankful for all that God is doing in our church and our community. Let’s continue to seek God’s face.

God Bless

Kenny Rager
