A New Year and a New Year to Spiritually Grow
Greetings,
2016 is coming to a close and (Lord willing) 2017 is right around the corner. As 2017 begins I want to share with you a few ways you can begin to spiritually grow and mature as a follower of Christ through Life Community Church.
Community Study
Beginning this Wednesday night we will be offering our first “Community Study”. Community Study, which will be similar in format to our Summer Bible Studies in the past and will take place in between life group semesters. This will be a time when the entire church can gather for a 3-4 week Bible study taught by your pastor. I encourage you to come this Wednesday night for our first Community Study at 6:30 pm.
A New Life Group Semester
Promotions for our our upcoming Life Groups will be beginning this Sunday. You will have a chance to sign up for the group of your choice. Each group will be studying different topics (on either Sunday morning or Wednesday night, your choice). The New Life Group semester begins the week of the 22nd.
Financial Peace University
Are you feeling the Christmas Money Crunch yet? If so, I want to encourage you to enroll in this year’s upcoming Financial Peace University. FPU will take place on Sunday nights beginning January 22nd. FPU will you teach you the fundamental practices of paying off debt, saving, and investing for your future. People who have enrolled in FPU are truly finding financial freedom. I would encourage all Life Community members to go through FPU. Me and Taran have been through FPU, applied the principles to our own lives, and (by God’s grace) we are debt free outside of our house. These principles work! Get involved today! Complete the LCC CLASS system.
The LCC CLASS system is designed to introduce you to the basics of the Christian Faith and lead you into Christian Leadership. The CLASS system begins with CLASS 101- an introduction to church membership, is preceded by CLASS 201- an introduction to spiritual maturity (which teaches you how to read and study the Bible, pray, tithe, and how to be involved in group fellowship), then comes CLASS 301- an introduction to ministry (which helps you identify your S.H.A.P.E.- Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences, all necessary to discover the ministries you need to be engaged in, and finally class 401- an introduction to missions (which helps you develop an Evangelistic Testimony, to present the Gospel, and how to be involved in Missions).
Finally the CLASS system recognizes all 401 graduates in CLASS 501 L.I.F.E.(Leadership In Faith and Encouragement). L.I.F.E. is intended for all 401 graduates every other month. It is my prayer that strong leaders will develop in CLASS 501 and its ongoing leadership training. (Remember, CLASSES 101-401 are intended to go through one time where as CLASS 501 is intended for all Graduates every time it’s offered).
