Weekly Update 7/26/16

Off

Greetings Life Community!

I would like to begin this email by congratulating The daughter of Aaron and Courtney Gish, Gracie, on her acceptance of Christ as her Savior in the service on Sunday morning.  It is incredibly joyful to see how God has moved in this entire family.  We are thankful for the last two weeks of services, where we have seen people make decisions for Christ and the Church.  I hope that we will see and expect more this upcoming Sunday!

This previous Sunday we also introduced our the theme for our annual “GROWTH CAMPAIGN”.  Nathan Booker, who is the campaign director this year, did a great job (and a pretty funny job!) of introducing it. The theme this year will be “ARE YOU ALIVE” and will be based off of David Jeremiah’s book Signs of Life.

The annual “GROWTH CAMPAIGN” is a very important time in our church calendar.  The campaign is centered around bringing the church together in unity and for a purpose to grow closer to God.  The campaign will launch on August 21st with a High Attendance Sunday.  I would like to encourage you to begin praying about who you are going to invite and to begin praying for people in your network that need hope and encouragement.

When the campaign kicks off, my sermon series will be in connection with the Life Groups.  Life Groups will be meeting on Wednesday nights at Hall Street Baptist and on Sunday mornings at the Community College.  All life groups will be following the theme “ARE YOU ALIVE”.  In addition to that, we will book orders in the Sunday morning service, leading up to the campaign, so you can have a copy of SIGNS OF LIFE.  This book by David Jeremiah is intended to be read every day (for 40 days) during the campaign.  It is important to order a copy of it, as we will be united together under the same teaching for the duration of the campaign.

Also during this campaign, we will be doing several community service projects each week and will have an intentional focus on prayer and renewal in our church.  We will be helping our community in great ways.  It will be exciting to see us moving beyond just a Sunday morning service and into the streets to help our community.  We will also be doing special prayer services to unite us in The Spirit as we move forward in this campaign for growth and awakening.

This is an exciting time!  Our goal for the campaign is to come together as a church, invite new people, and to experience God in a fresh new way.  I’m very excited!  And I hope you are excited as well.  Don’t forget you can order a campaign t-shirt and the SIGNS OF LIFE book at the campaign table on Sunday mornings leading up to 21st of August.
