Greetings Life Community!

I would like to begin this weekly email by welcoming Rick and Karen Phelps to the fellowship of Life Community Church.  We are so thankful that God has lead them to our church and look forward to how God will use them in the upcoming days.

Sunday was an all around good day at Life Community Church.  We welcomed back our New York City Mission Team with a great report.  The NYC team saw 17 people come to Christ!  We praise God for how he used the team this year.  Church planting and mission work is incredibly difficult and hard in the Big Apple; it requires endurance, prayer, and a long-term vision.  It is an honor to serve alongside Church Planters Jon and Bonnie Carr to help them in this overwhelming task to reach the Sunset Park Community in Brooklyn New York.  I look forward to future years of partnership with The Metro City Church in Brooklyn.

A few quick updates

  • Summer Bible Study is in full swing.  Join us tonight at 6:30pm at the facilities of Hall Street Baptist Church.

 

  • Hall Street Baptist Church will be conducting their Vacation Bible School on Sunday nights beginning July 31st.  They were very gracious to help us in our VBS, so let’s do our part to help them out.  Our parentership with Hall Street has turned out to be a great kingdom work.

 

  • The Deacon Team are accepting Deacon Suggestions from the church body.  This does not necessarily mean that the Deacons will bring forward a name this year, but it does mean they will prayerfully consider what the church is suggesting.  Remember that all suggestions should be in line with the BIblical requirements of 1 Timothy 3:8-13

 

  • A New Season of Serving is coming (Sep-Dec), be in prayer of where God would have you serve.

 

  • We are closely approaching our Annual Growth Campaign.  This year our theme will be “ARE YOU ALIVE?”.  We are so excited as we are in the prep stages of the campaign.  The campaign will kick off with a high attendance day on August 21st, with a new round of Life Groups.  Most of our life groups will meet on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, this is partially due to Kids Life moving to Wednesday nights, so you can go to group and the kids can go to class at the same time.

God keeps moving in a great way.  I hope to see you tonight at Summer Bible Study and on Sunday morning as we continue our series “LIVING UP IN A DOWN WORLD”, if you missed it you can download the message on our website (see link below).
