Weekly Update 3/14/16

Off

Greetings Life Community!

If you were able to attend the services yesterday you were blessed! We concluded our series “BUILDING A MARRIAGE” with a very special interview with Marshall and Shirley Veach. This couple has been married for 60+ plus years and shared valuable insight on what it means to stay together in the culture, through change, and in crisis. If you did not get a chance to hear it, please go to the website and listen to it. You will be blessed!

UPDATES: Lots of good stuff please read.

We also announced that we will be conducting a special called family meeting on March 27th to vote on moving into a new ministry center. We have outlined a 3 point plan for moving forward (a larger ministry center, a future youth/children’s pastor, and purchasing land). We feel like we are to do these one at a time and in order (unless The Lord does something else). We prayed for God to bring us a new Ministry Center, which will allow us to move everything under 2 roofs (instead of 3 or 4). We will be able to have new kids classes, youth rooms, more life group space, and offices. We will be continuing to worship at OCTC, but our base of operations will be moved to the new site. It’s located on Veach Rd near Briar Patch. We will be accessing 43,200 from general checking to pay for 2 years of lease up front. We feel that God quickly answered our prayers. We are aware that this will be Easter Sunday, but we humbly ask our members to wait around after the service to vote on this very important decision.

Easter

As we approach Easter, we are reminded about the powerful message of Easter; Christ died, was buried, rose again, and is coming again!

Easter is the most sacred and Holy day for Christians and therefore we make a big deal about it. I would like for you to note these events as we celebrate the Easter Season.

  • This upcoming Sunday is Palm Sunday. We will set the tone for Holy Week this upcoming Sunday. Make sure you are there to prepare for this Holy Week.
  • We will have a joint Maundy Thursday Service with Apollo Heights Baptist Church on Thursday evening the 24th of March (6:30pm)
  • Our Outreach Team will be hosting “A Walk to Calvary”. We encourage the church to come to Legion Park on Saturday the 26th from 6pm-8pm. You will have a chance to walk through various scenes of the Easter Story. Invite your Friends
  • Easter Morning Sunrise at Wing Ave. Wing Avenue has asked us to celebrate Sunrise with them once again this year. I have been asked to deliver the message and am honored to do so. I encourage you to come out.
  • Easter Morning Celebration! Pack the House! Sing your heart out! Rejoice!

Have a great and blessed week!
