40 Days in the Word has begun (weekly update oct. 25)

Off

Greetings Life Community Church,

40 Days in The Word has begun and God is already moving!  We are so thankful for those that made decisions on Sunday morning and for all those who signed up for Life Groups and took a 40 Days in the Word workbook.

Remember, a key component of the campaign is being in a small group.  The workbooks work when you are in a group, so it is important that you show up for one tonight, Friday, or on Sunday night.  The Sunday Night ones have already begun, so if you have not yet joined a group you will probably want to come tonight at 6:30 and get in a group for 40 Days in the Word.  Just show up!  The adult groups are downstairs in the old building, just come in through the office doors.  We will get you in a group and it will be awesome!

If you were not able to get a workbook on Sunday, we have made some copies and have ordered some more.  The other ones will be in soon and we can get them to you, you won’t miss out.  JUST SHOW UP!  We completely sold out on Sunday morning!  WOW!  Again, I believe God is going to do a great work in our midst and has already begun.  There is power in The Word of God!

A few quick updates for our church

Trail of Treats will be tomorrow night (Thursday). Come downtown as we hand out candy and participate in a community event.

Our Trustees (in cooperation with our stewardship team and church council) will be accessing our emergency fund for a down payment on a new boiler.  The church has already allocated an emergency fund that can be accessed by the trustees (it does not require a church vote).  We have been told that we are on “borrowed” time with our boiler and going into winter time is a great risk. Considering the severity of frozen pipes it is a risk that the trustees do feel is “urgent” and the stewardship team and church council agrees it falls under the “emergency” umbrella.  Again, since this has already been allocated by a church vote it is not necessary to be voted on.  It will exhaust the emergency fund (which the stewardship team will be looking at options on replacing it) and will only cover a down payment.  There will be a future family meeting (after the campaign to discuss the future of paying for the rest of the boiler, a loan will more than likely be in our future).  Let’s rejoice and praise God for his provisions as he always takes care of us.

I know God is doing a great work in our midst!  I am excited for 40 Days in The Word!  Get in a group, invite your friends, and experience the power of The Lord.
