Very Important Please Read 8/18/16
What an exciting time in the story of Life Community Church. We are experiencing in His Grace and Love in many ways. I wanted to take a few moments to explain about a very important event that is about to take place in the life of our church.
This Sunday will mark the beginning of our annual Spiritual Growth Campaign. The Growth Campaign is intended to unite us together as a church, to gather us together in Life Groups, to get us plugged into serving, to raise the level of our commitments, and to invite new friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to experience the season with us. I ask that you read this entire update to get the scope of what is about to happen in the life of our church.
1. It begins with our block party this Saturday….
The Block Party will be on the lawn of our old stomping grounds at Seven Hills School (now called the Gateway academy) on 2401 McConnell Ave, staring at 4pm. If rain does happen, we can move the event to the gym of Hall Street Baptist. There will be food, games, music, and activities for children. All free! We just desire to minister to our community. 2. High Attendance Day on Sunday.
As the campaign kicks off on Sunday morning, we begin it with a new sermon series entitled “ARE YOU ALIVE”. The sermon series will match what you are reading for the 40 day journey from David Jeremiah’s SIGNS OF LIFE. We are wanting to pack the place out. I want to encourage you to Follow up with your network this week. Remind people that the event is coming. Offer to do lunch with them after the service.
3. Life Groups and Kids Life Relaunch on Wednesday night.
The new round of life groups will begin at the facilities of Hall Street Baptist Church on Wednesday night at 6:30pm. Hopefully you have signed up for a group already, but if you have not, you can sign up on Sunday or online by clicking here.
4. This is more than just a high attendance day, it’s a 40 Day journey, with daily readings.
A big portion of the campaign is aligning our thoughts and hearts on one subject for 40 days. 40 is a number of completion in the Bible, so for 40 Days we will learn what the real signs of life truly are. We do this, by reading the daily devotions from David Jeremiah’s “SIGNS OF LIFE”. If you did not order the book, I would encourage you to buy the Kindle Edition by clicking here and then using your Kindle or downloading the Kindle app for your Android, IPhone, or Ipad and read it daily. The Kindle edition is only 7.99. We have ordered the hard copy books for everyone who signed up for one, and will have them by the Launch of the Life Groups on Wednesday. Each days devotions are short and to the point, but very powerful! You won’t regret it. Don’t take this part of the campaign for granted, it’s a major piece of the campaign.
5. There will be several projects during this time.
We will be helping people in need and doing many service projects. You will hear all about them on Sunday. If we are going to talk about “SIGNS OF LIFE” we need to show them. This will be a great chance to be in our community and to show people that we really are a “CONNECTING, CARING, and CHANGING” Church.
6. The campaign should lead us to serve…
As we come together as a church we want to be involved in the ministries of the church. We want to encourage everyone to be involved and engaged as they serve the Lord wherever they need to serve. 7. Don’t forget what this campaign is all about…
It’s about Health. It’s about getting healthy spiritually. It’s about growing because we are healthy. It’s about focus being realigned for health. It’s about renewal and awakening back into health. It’s about Revival!
8. Don’t forget to pray!
None of this will work if we don’t pray and commit it to God! There will be a Prayer Meeting tonight at Hall Street Baptist at 6:30 for the Life Community Campaign. Let’s gather and pray.
