God Keeps Moving 8/30/16

Off

I would like to begin this weeks email with gratitude and praise to The One True and Living God.  We are in full swing of our campaign season and we are seeing God’s Spirit move in a powerful way.

On Sunday morning Carson Cole professed His faith in Jesus Christ in front of the church family.  He will be baptized on September 25th. I would like to open up the baptism service to anyone who desires to be baptized to profess their faith in Jesus.  If you would like to follow Carson’s lead and join him in the baptismal waters, please send me an email and let me know your desire.  We will get you connected to Class 101 and then look forward to baptizing you.

I am also amazed at hearing reports of how God is moving behind the scenes.  This years theme verse is all about unity and harmony as well as last Sunday’s sermon.  I have been humbled to hear of how people have offered forgiveness to those in the church, have went to others in the church to ask for forgiveness, and to agree to be team players who work in unity.  This is the power of God.

I want to encourage you to get right with your fellow Brothers and Sisters in The Lord.  Don’t gossip, don’t be negative, and don’t cut them down.  Instead, go to them in the spirit of Matthew 18:15, which instructs us to go to that person.  Be a brave Christian man and be a brave Christian woman and make sure you do your part to bring healing and health to the congregation in regards to relationships.  Talk to people, not about people, and allow The Holy Spirit to continue His work.  And by God’s grace you’ll be able to proclaim “I’M OVER IT!”  😉

As this campaign goes forward, make sure you are doing your daily readings from David Jeremiah’s Signs of Life book.  This will help to develop servant hearts with servant attitudes.  A big component of this campaign will be service, we have lots of service projects coming up each week that we hope you are part of.

This week we are encouraging you to go and donate blood.  Let the blood bank know you are with Life Community Church.  Giving blood saves lives, and I think it’s wonderful that our church is giving blood.

We also had a wonderful Family meeting on Sunday night.  I would like to express my gratitude to the Fellowship Team for hosting a wonderful evening.  You all did great!  And to all the guys who cooked the burgers in awful heat!  They were good too!

During our Family meeting we approved a new budget, new teams, approved moving forward to search for an Associate Pastor of Students, approved a Search Team for the search process, and approved to give $5,000 to the Night to Shine Event in February.  This is some pretty exicting stuff as our church moves forward.

We also shared that Hall Street Baptist Church will be voting on their decision on September 11th.  We will humbly pray for our brothers and sisters over at Hall Street as they seek what they feel God is doing in their lives.

I praise God for His movement in our church.  Let’s continue to seek His face, be open to His leadership, be reading our books, be involved in Life Groups (which meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30 at Hall Street and on Sunday mornings at 9:30am at the college), to serve, and to offer grace and forgiveness as we dwell together in unity before The Lord.

” How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”  Psalm 133:1
