LCC Weekly Update 9/9/15
Greetings LCC,
Make sure you take time to read all of this email, some important stuff in it…
We had a tremendous day on Sunday! We were so thankful for Chalmer and Sherry Lindsey who united with our church and for the profession of faith of Ms. Allyson Ruteledge. As we were taking the offering, I was met in the hallway by Ms. J Jacqueline Burzyk, who told me she just asked Christ into heart and wanted to make it public! It was a little unconventional, but Taran dismissed everyone and I called everyone back in!!!! We then announced Jacqueline’s profession of faith! This is true movement of The Holy Spirit.
Life Community was started as a church to reach the unchurched and those far from God. As we grow many things will change. The way we operate, where we are located, how we are organized etc. Sometimes it may appear to be a very different church than what it was 3 years ago (and really it is), but the gauge will always be the mission and it is evident from Sunday…..that mission has not changed. As we grow we will look different more and more each Sunday, but we will be reminded that God is still moving and great things are still happening.
We will continue to see great movements like this as we approach our campaign. Our Fall Growth Campaign is all about realigning our vision and focus back on Jesus. It is a time of spiritual awakening and revival. This week alone, we had a great First Monday Night prayer meeting (Best attended so far! And it was on Labor Day! The Spirit of God was thick!) and we had two home prayer meetings for the campaign (at the Bookers and the McCartys). On Thursday night my family will be hosting a home prayer meeting and Bryan and Karen Pearl will be hosting one. I want to encourage you to go to pray for revival in our church. The same homes will be hosting them next week to, for the purpose of praying for revival and awakening!
Part of our mission as a church is that we will be a Connecting, Caring, and Changing Church. We will be doing our part to “change the world around us for Christ” this Saturday.
Season of serving schedules are now available online.

Community Canvassing for the Campaign
People will meet at OCTC Saturday morning at 8am to canvass the neighborhoods around OCTC (Deer Valley, etc) and then in west side. They will try to be done by no later than noon Saturday.
Sellersburg Mission Project
There will also be a team heading to Sellersburg Indiana (north of Louisville) to help Shea Allen, church planter of the Refuge Church, with a one day Vacation Bible School. This will be a big deal for this church, as they are using it to connect with the community to launch their church on September 20th. Let’s pray for this team as they head out on Saturday.
As our Campaign approaches we are praying for 300 people on our campaign kick off. I want to encourage you to invite people in your network to come out and support. I believe it will be a powerful day. I have also sent letters to a specific few to help “ROCK A ROW” during the campaign, they will be people who take on the special assignment of filling up an entire row for that day.
Also make sure you have signed up for a Life Group, as the sermons will be directly connected to the group material every week. You can sign up for one online at the “Movement” campaign site: http://lifeowensboro.com/life-groups/movement/
The campaign itself is more than just a high attendance and group promotion. It’s intended for us to come together as a church and be united in prayer. I pray that God will use in a great way to change our community. I’m praying for a great awakening in our city.
It is a pleasure to be your Pastor and I pray you have a great week!
