New Years Resolutions: Live for Christ * Learn from Christ * Love Christ

Are you excited about the new year?  I know that I am!  The more I am around people, the more I get a sense that each of us has had the type of year that leaves us ready for a fresh start.  Do you know that the Bible speaks of a fresh start?

“So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see everything has become new!” (2 Cor. 5:17).

At Life Community Church, we have been blessed, humbled and challenged in seeing the salvation of thirteen people since our launch date of October 28th, and our church membership has grown to forty people!  The more I talk to Pastor Kenny, the more I get the sense that he knows exactly Who gets the credit for this—-only God can!  It’s extremely exciting to see people, and in some cases entire families, come to know Christ in the last two months.  God is doing an awesome work in our midst.

With this work also comes a challenge to us in this new year–to be faithful and obedient to the mission of the Great Commission.

In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus gives us an incredible mission: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

In this new year, let us all strive to be faithful in sharing our faith, making disciples and sharing the love of Christ.
