Weekly Update: 1/7/14

This last Sunday we introduced our NEW mission and vision Statement

CONNECTING, CARING, and CHANGING!

Connecting to Jesus, Caring for People, and Changing the world.  As our church has grown and developed in the last year I felt like the Lord was telling me it was necessary to simplify and reinvent our mission statement.  The Five Biblical Purposes of the Church never Change (Worship, Evangelism, Ministry, Fellowship, and Discipleship) but how we express those and phrase those may change.  I’m excited as roll out the THREE C CHALENGE!

As a Connecting Church- we will be all about connecting people to Jesus and His Church (regardless of who they are, where they come from, and where they are going.  We want to be the kind of church that introduces people to the life changing message of Christ!)  We connect in real worship in spirit and truth.

As a Caring Church- we will care for people by being involved in Life Groups, praying for others, meeting needs, and being genuinely concerned for the spiritual and well being of our church family and the community.

As a Changing church- we will serve in our church and make difference.  We will be intentional in reaching out the community, the nation, and the world!

I invite you to join in on this great adventure by praying for God to continue to grow us, lead us into chartering, and send a great revival in Owensboro Kentucky!

A Few Updates:

WE HAVE REACHED OUR CHRISTMAS OFFERING!  I am happy to report that we received $903 for our Christmas offering!  We praise the Lord!

CLASS 201 will be this Sunday @ 2:45.  We encourage you to make it if you have not been through it.  If you are planning on attending please email me and let me know.  (Class 301 and the first 401 will be the following sundays.  With CLASS 401 being held at the Logsdon Center).

Life Groups are coming!  Make sure you sign up for one on Sunday.  Online signups coming soon!   (There will be a Life Group Leader meeting tonight @ 6:30 at the Ministry Center)

A Very special thank you to all those who served during the KWC outreach dinners.  We were able to present the Gospel through the Billy Graham video “MY HOPE AMERICA:  THE CROSS”.  It was fantastic.

Next NYC mission trip deposit will be March 2nd.

Be in prayer about our BIG FRIENDS AND FAMILY DAY on February 16th.  We are going to break  record attendance of 190 people!
