Life Community Weekly Update 12/8/15
Greetings Life Community Church,
We had a wonderful day on Sunday as we welcome the Burns family into our fellowship. Thankful for Robbie and Misti’s desire to be part of this church and we are excited about Misti’s baptism. We keep seeing God move in a great way in our church, and we are praying that God keeps sending His Spirit. Last night (Monday) we had a great First Monday night prayer service, if you are not currently going to the First Monday services you are missing out! It is a powerful night of prayer, each time we have it. I believe firmly that this is the reason why we are seeing great things in our church like we are. So mark your First Monday, every month to come and pray.
We are currently in the midst of our Christmas Advent Series “From The Cradle to the Cross”. I want to keep encouraging you to keep coming and bring some friends with you over the next two weeks. This upcoming Sunday’s sermon will have a very special part to it, that I believe will touch you. Also on the 20th, our children will be having a part in the worship service, so this will be a great time to invite your family to come and hear them. As always, this church is all about reaching those that don’t know The Lord and those who are out of church (Connecting, Caring, and Changing) so when you invite people to come, make sure they are those who need The Lord as we hope they give their lives to Jesus.
A few updates
- Christmas Dinner this Sunday night!- Our annual Dinner will be at the Logsdon Center at 5pm. We encourage you to bring your favorite side dish or a desert. We also want you to bring a friend with you! Everyone is welcome. (We also plan on baptizing that evening!)
- A NEW SEASON OF SERVING IS COMING! (January-April 2016)- I want to encourage everyone to be involved in an area of service. You can sign up online by visiting our serving section of our website: http://www.lifeowensboro.com/serving
- New York Mission Trip- we had our first NYC information meeting on Sunday. We invite you to come and minister in Brooklyn New York as we conduct a Vacation Bible School and street evangelism for the Metro City Church (a North American Mission Board Church that we currently support and partner with). The first Deposit will be due by December 20th and all commitments to go by December 20th. (All deposits will be non-refundable)
- Christmas Eve Service- The Life Community Christmas Eve Service will be held at Apollo Heights Baptist Church. We will receive our Christmas offering that night by placing our gifts in the “Cradle”. We invite the whole family to come up (during communion) to place their Christmas gift in the cradle. The 2015 Christmas offering will be divided four ways (25% to The International Mission Board, 25% to the North American Mission Board, 25% to Sunrise Children’s Services, and 25% to The Refuge Church in Sellersburg Indiana- a new church plant that we have helped with). In addition to this, we will be clearly presenting the Gospel that night, so please bring an unchurched person with you (studies have shown that Christmas Eve is THE most receptive time that a person is willing to come to church! Don’t waste that opportunity…it could be life changing to a person!)
- Trip to Kelly Baptist Church- On December 27th LCC has been invited to come to Kelly Baptist to give testimonies and show our gratitude for their financial support for helping our church in the early days. Kelly is located near Hopkinsville, I know it will be drive, but if folks would like to come out and support that would be great. Services will begin at 6pm that evening.
- online giving always available at http://www.lifeowensboro.com/giving
Looking forward to this Sunday!
God Bless
