Life Community Update 10/30/14

Off

Greetings Life Community!

Two years ago this week (the 28th) our Church launched weekly services.  It’s amazing to think that it’s already been two years, but it has.  So many lives have been touched, changed, and God is still doing that.  This last Sunday we were thankful for the profession of faith of Chris McCuistion.  We will pray for him and his wife Jessica as they press forward for what God has for them.  We pray that God will give us many more years to come, hopefully as many years until He comes back.

To celebrate our 2 year birthday we will be having our birthday service this upcoming Sunday night at Crosspointe Bapitst (behind Audubon Elementary School) at 6:30.  No Kids Life and Youth this Sunday, due to the Birthday service.  It will begin at 6:30 and we encourage you to bring finger foods and a 2 liter.  We will have a night of worship, testimonies, and a vision sermon for year 3.  There may be cake…..  J.  We have normal services on Sunday morning @ 11am @ the community college.

Tonight we will be involved in the Owensboro “TRAIL OF TREATS”.  Our church desires to change the world, so the best place to start is right here in our community.  Participating in events like this helps the city of Owensboro know that we care.

The event begins at Smothers Park 5:30-8pm. and Life Community Church will  have a booth set up on 1st street in front of the veteran memorial between the playground and the river park. Set up starts at 2. We can drive into the area to set up but all vehicles must be put of the area by 4. We have plenty of candy. We have decorations and tables. The booth still needs extension cords and a power strip. Danielle Hutchinson (who has done a fantastic job organizing this) will be getting there around 3. Anyone who can help set up would be greatly appreciated. We are to have 5 or 6 people to hand out the candy per booth. She would like to hang the banner for our booth if anyone can rig up two poles with stands to go behind the booths.  It will be a great experience.

Our theme will be “NINJA TURTLES”, so come if you can wear a Turtle mask tonight…EVEN BETTER!!!!  The word on the street is that we will have RAPHAEL to take pictures with the kids.

Also, our church will be conducted into the Kentucky Baptist Convention on November 11th.  The Annual meeting will be held at Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green.  It’s great that we are being inducted this year, because the meeting is so close to Owensboro.  The KBC encourages all of us that can, to attend that day, to be recognized.  It will happen that morning.  I hope you can attend.

God is doing a great work in our church.  Let’s continue to pray, continue to connect people to Christ, continue to care for people and invite them to Life Groups, and to Change the world in which we live in through the Name of Jesus

It is a pleasure to be your Pastor.
