LCC weekly update 6/30/15
Greetings Life Community Church!
I want to begin this weekly email by stating that my family and I are so incredibly grateful for the love and support that you have given us with the birth of our new baby…Joy Kate Rager. Joy was born on June 22nd weighing 6lb.s 12oz . Thank you all for the prayers and love!
Sunday morning was also a blessing. I enjoyed being able to listen to our special guest Racheal Hurt and Nathan Scott lead us in worship and word. I pray that we will take Nathan’s challenge to take the Bible stories and share them with people in our networks. There is no doubt that the Gospel is needed and new churches need to begin. It all happens by simply telling the old old Story of Jesus Christ. We also rejoice in Allyson Funk’s decision to follow Christ as her savior! Finally, it was truly a blessing to able to baptize Megan and Jesse Payne, we are so glad they are part of this church, given their lives to Jesus, and has made it public through baptism.
This morning I had the opportunity to go to Camp Schaffer and spend some time with our middle school kids who are there today. Mark Rowe and Celena Keel are graciously helping this week by being chaperones. It seems like the campers and the adults are all having a blast. It was a pleasure to worship with them today. Stephen Keel said that he is organizing some of the parents to go to camp schaffer for worship on Wednesday night if anyone would like to. Just a quick note: the road to camp schaffer currently has a bridge out, so you will need to past Pellville Baptist church, turn left onto 69 and then turn left onto Ed Brown Rd. It should take you right to camp.
Keep in mind that our one day Vacation Bible School Celebration will be on July 18th at the Logsdon Center. We are signing up volunteers at Guest services on Sunday mornings. We hope you get involved and help out in this exciting mission endeavor.
Be in prayer for the New York City Mission Team as they will be departing on July 19th. Pray for them as they are organizing the materials for a vacation bible school to be held in Brooklyn NY and for their preparation
I also want you to mark your calendars for our annual missional Block Party to be held in the Heartlands on August 29th. In the past we have tried to reach out and show the love of Jesus to this neighborhood and we still want to keep doing that. We want this to be bigger and better than ever. We will have cooking teams, game teams, registration teams, and more. In the past some have felt lead to donate bicycles or toys for giveaways. If you would like to do that to bless the kids, please just let me know
Our Church Council and nominating team are making two recommendations to amend the current by-laws. After having one year down of operating on our own, we have figured out what is working and how to make it work more efficiently. The recommended changes need to be before the people of the church at least 8 Sundays before the family meeting, which would be this July 5th. Our annual Family Meeting will be held on August 30th.

Don’t forget about Summer Bible Study Thursday night at 6:30! We took a break last week but will be back on track this week. SBS is going extremely well and I hope you can make it out. Child care provided for small children. Held at the facilities of Wing Ave Baptist Church on Wing Ave.
God bless and have a great day!
