LCC Weekly Update 3/12/15

Off

Greetings Life Community Church!

I hope this week has been a good one for you, especially since the sun is out and the snow is gone!  I hope that everyone has a fantastic weekend!
Life Community Church would like to welcome Mike and Donna Ray into the fellowship, as they joined the church on Sunday morning.  We rejoice with this couple and pray for them as they use their gifts and talents in the body of Christ.

A few quick updates

Life Groups are in full swing and open for anyone to join at any time.  You can learn more on our website.

Baby Shower for Charlie and Aimee Keller will be held on Sunday March 22nd at 5pm at the Logsdon Center for baby boy Liam.  If interested in helping contact Taran Rager (taranelise@yahoo.com)

There will also be a CLASS 301 on March 22nd, at the Ministry Center at 2:45.  If you have completed class 101 and 201 feel free to attend class 301.  301 is all about discovering your Life Mission.  It’s amazing to see people go through class 301 as they learn that God has equipped them in very special ways to serve Him and to do great things for the Kingdom.  I hope you plan on attending.

The New York City Mission Team will also need to meet at the Ministry Center at 5:00pm on the 22nd.  If you are planning on attending the NYC team or would like to know more about it, you’ll need to be there for that meeting.

Our church will be taking a group to The Gridiron Men’s Conference, June 19-20, Birmingham Al.  We’d encourage all men to pray about going.  It is fathers day weekend, but a great gift to your family would be growing closer to God as a husband and father.

Online giving seems to be getting used.  You can sign up for recurring drafts if you would like to. If this is a help and is working for you, this is the reason we are doing it.   More information is available on our website at

Also keep in mind the upcoming Ohio Valley Celebration with Will Graham.  This city wide evangelistic crusade will be held at the Convention Center and will be a tremendous blessing to our city.  The crusade will take place on April 24-26th.  We want to keep reminding you to make sure you plan on attending with your family and your friends that may not know Jesus.

You can learn more on their website:  http://ohiovalleycelebration.org/

In regards to our search for a more permanent place, we are still doing due diligence.  We are in the process now of exploring city building codes and getting the appropriate prints and drafts that will be needed to acquire bids and estimates.  Drafts and prints are necessary in order to press forward.  Continue to pray for God’s guidance and leadership as we explore the possibility of the Rural King building.   It will take some time before we have a definitive answer (as we wait for prints to be drawn and bids to come in, from there we will seek God’s will and direction if this is the right move) , so be patient and keep praying.

I have learned a few things in my years of ministry.

  1.  If you run ahead of God, you’ll miss out
  2. If you don’t trust God and stay still you’ll miss out.
  3. If we can do it on our own, it’s probably not from God! (He always wants the glory!)

I’ll close you this week with one of my favorite quotes from The Father of Modern Missions, William Carey

“Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God”

And

“…watch– and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told”  Habakkuk 1:5

God Bless and have a great weekend!  I’ll see you on Sunday!

In Christ
