LCC Weekly Update 11/18/14

Off

Life Community,

Good afternoon on this cold….NOVEMBER DAY?  It is fall, so who is to say we can’t have snow fall!  Stay warm out there!

I missed you all last Sunday, but was thankful that one of my mentors and good friends, Ed Pavy the Campus Minister at Campbellsville University, could preach in my place.  I am in revival services at First Baptist Church of Russellville Kentucky through Wednesday night.  I will be back in the pulpit this upcoming Sunday to conclude our series on “GET YOUR PRAISE ON!”

I also heard that we had an amazing day on Sunday!  We are so glad to welcome the Helton Family into the fellowship and to especially rejoice with their son’s Caleb’s decision to give his life to Christ.  We rejoice with Frannah Cook as she is welcomed into the fellowship of LCC!  We praise God for the great decisions made on Sunday!  Let’s pray that Lives are changed every Sunday as we Connect, Care, and Change!

A few quick reminders

We encourage you to sign up for the next season of serving beginning in January.  You can sign up at church or online.  Follow the link below to look at service options, find one, click on it, and get registered in an area of service.  Serving is a critical part of our church, as we take our gifts and talents and use them for each other.  My prayer is that every member of the church will be active in serving in some area.  God uses you in a great way when you serve.  Click the link below for options.

CLASS 401 This upcoming Sunday-  Come and learn about the commitments necessary for Missions and Outreach.  It will be held at the Ministry Center @ 2:45

The Church Council will meet for the first time on November 30th @ 5-6pm.  If you are a team leader of a ministry team please try to make it or send a representative from  your team.

We will also be dropping off all of our operation Christmas child shoe boxes on Wednesday.  We have a lot of boxes!  We will announce the total on Sunday morning!  If you still need to get a box in, contact me ASAP.  Make sure you include you $7 in your box or with your box.

Life Groups will be beginning a new study entitled “LIFE RULES”, written by Andy Stanely of North Point Church.  This is a great jumping on point for you if you are not currently in a group.

Mark your calendar for Wednesday the 26th for our LAST WEDNESDAY prayer service. It will be held at the Logsdon Center the night before Thanksgiving.  We will gather to pray for our needs and worship God.

I also want to take a few moments to get your brain and heart directed towards our annual Christmas offering.   We will be receiving our Christmas offering during our Christmas Eve service.  As we prepare to buy gifts make sure you pray about what God would have you give to the annual Christmas offering.

Our Outreach Team is dividing our offering as follows:

25% to International Missionaries.  Going to those who are serving The Lord in foreign fields through the International Mission Board  www.imb.org

25% to North American Missions.  Going to serve those who are church planting in North America through the North American Mission Board www.namb.net

25% to Sunrise Children’s Services.  Going to help our Kentucky Baptist Children’s home to place foster children and to help with adoptions.  www.sunrise.org

25% to Metro City Church.  Going to help the Southern Baptist church plant that we worked with this Summer and will return to work with this upcoming summer.  www.metrocitychurchnyc.com

Be in prayer and thoughtful consideration how you will give to the Christmas offering this year.

I hope you have a fantastic week!  Praying for you and looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Pastor Kenny
