LCC update Holy Week Edition

Life Community,

Today is Tuesday of Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter).  I pray that your hearts and minds are fixed upon what Christ did for us on the Cross many years ago and how that sacrifice still impacts us, changes, and propels us forward today.  I hope you are taking time to read the “THE CROSS ROAD: A HOLY WEEK DEVOTION”.  I hope that it is encouraging to you and speaks to you during this Easter season.

As we approach Easter, I want to remind you about our Good Friday Service.  It will be held on Friday @ 7pm at Crosspointe Baptist Church 550 Worthington Road.  This will be a joint worship service with Crosspointe, Eaton Memorial, Buck Creek, and Life Community.  This will be a very reverent service to remember what Christ did for us on the cross, complete with The Lord’s Supper that night. I am also encouraging our congregation to fast on Friday until the Supper.  Obviously how and if you fast is between you and God, but I want to encourage you to do this to spiritually prepare for what Jesus did for us.  (All of our churches are asking for a volunteer or two to help with nursery and child care that night.  If God would lay it on your heart to serve and help your congregation by watching the young children during this service, please let me know).

Be in prayer about who you will invite to Easter services with you.  This is a great time to invite your unchurched loved ones to come and see!  And they will!  But you have to invite them.  I’m praying for you as you extend your invitation to those in your fishing pond.

On Easter Morning we will have normal services at 11:00am at the Owensboro Community College.  For those that would like to participate, Wing Ave Baptist Church has invited us to their sun rise service at Wing Ave Baptist at 6:30am.  I will be there and would love to have you with me.

We are so thankful for Chris Simmons and his profession of faith this last Sunday morning.  The entire family has now accepted Christ and we rejoice!  We will be baptizing Shelby and Chris (father and daughter) together!  We also have a few more that are ready for baptism and we will be baptizing on May 4th.  If you too would like to be baptized please email me so we can discuss it.  (Location for Baptism TBA)

Our new facility at OCTCS is wonderful!  Thank you all for being patient with us, as we are still trying to figure out the best way for setup, lighting, and sound.  As we continue to press forward we will learn the setup a lot better and will work the bugs out.  Setup is still necessary, and as we press forward we need several hands there at 8am until we get a better swing of it.  I especially want to encourage many of you to come at 8am on Easter if it all possible.  I also want to publically say thank you to all those who will be serving in Children’s Church and Nursery on Easter Sunday, your ministry is greatly appreciated and God is going to bless you for that!

I hope that you have taken time to sign up for an area of service in our new Season of Serving (May-Aug).  You can now sign up online, by following this link

God uses those who serve in various areas to grow the ministry and to reach others.  You’re willingness to serve fulfills one of your life purposes (MINISTRY), and I pray that you will consider where you can be used.  I really want to encourage you to sign up for Kids Church and Nursery, these areas have a tremendous impact on our children.  You really make a difference!  During this last season of serving, my little Gracie has learned more Bible Verses and Bible songs than she ever has!  I know all of our parents of little ones are blessed by those who serve.

I hope you have a great Holy Week.  Continue to read the Devotion as God speaks to you.  I look forward to seeing you this weekend!
