LCC update: 6/17/13

Greetings Life Community,

I hope that every family had a great Fathers Day weekend. We pray for our fathers that they will continue to be great men of God who live for The Lord. Kids need their dads and they need their dads to be mature in Christ. We were also very excited to be able to Baptize Angela Crain in the Landolt’s swimming pool!  Congrats Angela!

A few quick announcements:

No youth group bible study this Wednesday night.  World Changers, a construction ministry that brings kids in from all over the nation to work on needy homes, will be in town this week.  World Changers is sponsored by our Baptist association.  One of the crews will be working in the Trinity Hills neighborhood and has asked me to speak to them about church planting.  This crew of young people also will be canvassing Trinity Hills with info about our church after they eat supper.  If our teenagers would like to be part of this just email me and let me know.

Life Groups begin next Sunday Night! Are you in a group? There’s still time! I encourage you to sign up on Sunday morning or just come Sunday evening @ 5pm to the Logsdon Community Center. Groups are so important for your spiritual development and the health of the church. We will be studying “SHARE JESUS WITHOUT FEAR”, a great resource on how to tell others about Jesus Christ.

Our Family Movie night is approaching. Remember, this is a great way to connect with your neighbors and friends. I want to encourage you to be inviting and praying for the families you are going to invite. Even though we will be watching a movie about two little monsters and the corporation they work for, we will also be using this as a way to connect with the community and to get to know our neighbors. So invite your friends with kids that do not have a church home . Also, make sure your kids tell their friends too! Here is a facebook link for you to post on your facebook timeline for the event.

Also, don’t forget that we will be taking a one day mission project to work with the HR Ministries in Princeton Kentucky. We will be car pooling and leaving early that morning and coming back that night. I hope you can participate!

Next Month will continue to be a month of outreach and evangelism. We will be having a community block party in Heartland Park on July 20th and VBS to follow that next Monday. Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Cynthiana ky will be coming to work with us the week before the block party and providing the block party. We are very excited about them serving! We also encourage all of our members to be involved in VBS this year.

We will be continuing our sermon series “SMALL STEPS FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH” next week. Invite your friends!
