LCC Update 6/11/13
Greetings LCC, what a tremendous Sunday we had on Sunday! I am happy to announce the addition of Nine more into our family. We welcome Brian and Amy Forrest, Russ Hellums, Vince Crain, Angela Crain (who is coming for Baptism), Brian Baughn (coming for Baptism), and Allen, Michelle, and Emily Miller (all coming for Baptism). We praise God for all of these decisions!
In addition to that, we had a great 201 CLASS. Congratulations to all those who completed 201 and made the formal commitment to Mature in their walk with God. A commitment to pray daily, read scripture, tithe, and be part of Life Groups.I am praying for you as you seek God’s face and grow in your walk with him. I am trying to plan a 301 at the end of the summer and possibly another 201. We will still continue to have 101’s on a monthly basis.
I am reminded of one of the ideas taught in 101…”we must never stop growing”. When a church refuses to grow God will stop blessing that congregation, not to mention the joy that will be drained from the congregation. If you remember we also taught that we must grow “larger” and “smaller” at the same time. How do we grow “large” and “small” at the same time? Through our Life Group Ministry. I want to encourage you to sign up for a Life Group this upcoming Sunday. Our summer session of Life Groups will last through the summer until our next session begins in the fall. All groups will be meeting together at the Logsdon center on Sunday evenings @ 5pm. Groups will last a little over an hour and will study “SHARE JESUS WITHOUT FEAR”. This study will be life changing for some, as we learn how to properly tell others about Jesus. In addition to the study, the groups will also be meeting together for ministry and to encourage each other. I hope you sign up!
Don’t forget about our two upcoming projects: Family Movie Night and our one day mission project to Princeton Kentucky (28th and 29th). We want you to invite your neighbors and friends to our Family movie night. We will be watching a movie about a couple of funny monsters and their adventure. We will attempt to have games and pop corn for the kids. But we want this to be more than just a movie night for our kids, we want to use this outreach into our neighborhood and connect with families. Be praying about who you are going to invite and remember this is “FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT”, so we want moms and dads to stay. If you would like to help out on Family Movie night, sign up on Sunday or send me an email to let me know.
We also encourage you to carpool with us to Princeton Kentucky as we help out with the HR Ministries Clothes Closet and learn about that ministry. This trip will last all day on that Saturday.
Begin praying about our Bible School. We would like to have all of our members working and helping at Bible School in some capacity. Vacation Bible School is a tremendous way to win people to Jesus Christ. Bible School will happen July 22nd-25th@ The Logsdon Center. VBS kick off will begin with our community block party in the heartland park on July 20th. Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Cynthiana Kentucky will be helping us with our block party as they are one of our financial and prayer partners. They will arrive on Thursday the 18th, prayer walk our community, help us canvass for the block party and bible school, and help us out with our block party. It will be so exciting for us to meet one of our partners! Again, be praying about how you can serve in Bible School.
I am also very excited to see our church growing and maturing. Remember as we serve, financially give, and pray we are being used by God to be part of vibrant ministry. Your sacrifice will go a long way. I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we continue our sermon series “Small Steps for Spiritual Growth”. Thank you for your service and love at LCC. It is a pleasure to be your Pastor! God Bless
