LCC Update: 5/6/14
Good afternoon Life Community Church,
I hope this Spring day is treating you all well. The sun is shining and it is beautiful!
We have a lot to rejoice over today. We are thankful for the Jill Payne and her decision to unite with Life Community Church on Sunday morning and for Destinee Landolt’s profession of faith. We are also thankful for all 5 that were baptized on Sunday. It’s so exciting to see God touching and changing lives. In addition to that it is exciting to see our church growing in front of our eyes.
I am also happy to announce that last years summer intern, Adam Coleman, is back with us again for the summer. Adam began working on Monday and has already made two hospital visits with me and is currently working on evangelism projects for our church! He is going to do a great job this summer. If you weren’t here last year when Adam was and didn’t get to meet him, you’ll be seeing him around. He’s a great blessing.
The Community college seems to be working well. We have now had 4 Sundays in it and are learning how to best function in it. It’s taken a little bit of trial and error with how we set up things and make things look and sound, but we are getting there! Very thankful for everyone’s cooperation and positive attitudes with our move, God truly blesses that. In addition to that we are encouraged to be continually inviting our friends and family to church with us, because we have plenty of room. We desire to be a Connecting (to Jesus), Caring (for people), and Changing (the world) kind of church…and I feel like God is continually leading us to that.
This upcoming Sunday is Mothers Day and we will be having a baby dedication. As I explained on Sunday morning, if you have children (that are no longer babies) but have never dedicated them to the Lord, please feel to bring them. Baby dedication does not save a child, but is a commitment for the parents to raise the child for The Lord and to pray that God will bless the child. It is a very special time. We will do the baby dedication at the very beginning of the service, so if you would like to take your child back to kids church or the nursery afterwards you can. It will be a very special time. (If you do plan on dedicating your child please shoot me an email and let me know).
Life Groups are coming in June. My prayer is that everyone will attempt to be part of a Life Group. They are very encouraging and really make a difference in the lives of people. Sign up sheets are available on Sunday mornings or you can sign up online.

Also, we will be beginning a new ministry called “LAST WEDNESDAY”. “Last Wednesday” will occur every last Wednesday of each month. It will be a prayer service, where the entire church is encouraged to come and pray. I believe this ministry will be critical for our church as we move towards chartering and constituting. A church that prays will always be a church full of the power of The Lord. “Last Wednesday” will meet at the Logsdon Center.
Also remember Leroy Moore in your prayers. He had shoulder surgery on Monday and is recovering in the Owensboro Hospital.
I pray the Lord blesses you this week! If you need anything please let me know.
