LCC Update 1/23/14

Greetings LCC,

Hope everyone is having a good day on this cold January afternoon.

I have been so excited about what God is doing at Life Community Church.  We were very thankful to be able to baptize both Crystal and her daughter Jaylin Thomasson last Sunday after the services.  Really appreciate everyone who came out to support them.  Year 2 for our church began in November with our birthday service.  To date (3 months later) we have already baptized 12 people.  We just praise God for all that He is doing!

I also want to encourage you to be praying for our Friend and Family day coming  on February 16^th at Life Community.  Friend and Family Day will be a high attendance day (trying to break 190 in attendance), but more than that, it’s a chance to bring our lost loved ones to church.  We will have an exciting service as we will begin a new sermon series on Friend and Family Day entitled “RELATIONSHIP RESCUE” (focusing on repairing marriages, strengthening marriages,  moving forward after a broken marriage, and what to look for in a marriage).  I’m excited!    So be praying about who you can invite to be your special guest!

This month has also been a great month as we have been moving through our CLASS system.  We have offered CLASS 101, 201, and 301 with  our first ever CLASS 401 being offered this upcoming Sunday.  This will be an exciting time as we will see our first set of CLASS Graduates at Life Community.  I’m anticipating a large Class 401, so we will be holding it at the Logsdon Center (2400 Friendship Dr.) @ 2:45.  I’m very proud of all who went through the Christian Life Seminars that we offered and for making decisions and commitments at each level.   The commitments made at each level are being seen as our members step up in giving, serving, and making a difference.  God is growing us into a “CONNECTING, CARING, and CHANGING” Church, right before our eyes.  (If you plan on attending CLASS 401, shoot me an email and let me know)

Some additional updates

Life Groups are beginning the first week in February!  We have two more groups that you can get plugged into.  We have a Monday Night Group and Tuesday Group waiting for you to sign up.  The Monday night group will be led by Mark Rowe and Sam Williams while the Tuesday Night Group will be lead William and Amanda Beeler.  Sign up on Sunday!

Don’t forget that the Youth will be going to “Winter Jam” on January 30^th, which is next Thursday.  We are in need of more drivers to help out on that night.  If you are willing to drive shoot me an email and let me know.  The cost is $10 for grades 6^th-12^th.  You can also contact Mark Rowe for more information mark.rowe@owensboro.kyschools.us

Don’t forget about the Baby Shower for Scott, Regina, and Baby Eli Jones on February 9^th @ The Logsdon Center.
