June Mission Opportunities
Greetings Life Community Church!
One of LCC’s core values is “MISSIONS”, simply meaning that we desire to join God in his mission on reaching a world that is far from Him. We care very much about reaching people for Jesus Christ. I wanted to send out a special update to specifically talk about two June Mission Opportunities for you to pray about being involved in.
If you have been noticing in the program we had had a “save the date” for a World Changers Event. World Changers is a Christian organization that brings in youth groups to rehab homes. We had originally planned on hosting a community dinner on the lawn of Seven Hills in partnership with the World Changer Construction Crew that will be doing home repair in the Trinity Hills neighborhood. Unfortunately, this event is not going to happen due to some external factors. We will still try to minister to the construction crew in one way or the other, but a community meal isn’t going to work at this time.
To make sure that we still have a mission presence in the month of June, I am planning a “FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT” at the Logsdon Center. We will be showing a movie about two likeable monsters and the incorporation that they work for. I desire for this to be more than just a movie night for our kids, but a chance for us to reach out into the Heartlands to get to know our neighbors and friends. We will have games, popcorn and drinks, and it will all be free. We will host the FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT on June 28th. This will give us plenty of time to prepare for it and invite those who may not have a church home to be part of it.
Also, I encourage you to pray about attending a one day mission trip to Princeton Kentucky to work with The HR Ministries. On that day we will learn about missions and get a chance to help with their clothes closet. This will be a very small way of participating in what God is doing, but I believe it will open our eyes to God’s big picture and the need to “GO”!
