4/22/13 Update
Greetings LCC!
What a wonderful day we had yesterday! I am so excited that Mrs. Donna Colbert came forward expressing her desire to rededicate her life to Christ. We will be praying for Mrs. Donna as she presses forward in her Christian walk doing what God wants her to do. I am equally excited about the profession of faith from Brent Gish yesterday! I know his mother and father are very excited about his decision to follow the Lord. We will be setting a date for baptism, which I am sure you will want to attend to support him.
God is continuing to do a great work in our midst. Mrs. Shirley Veech shared with me that she constantly prays that more people will come forward during Sunday morning services. Join with her as she prays for this. Let’s pray and expect God to move on hearts every time we gather together. Let our meetings be more than just songs and sermons, but a chance to truly encounter the living presence of God.
As we press forward into the Month of May I would encourage all of you to be actively serving in the Church during our next season of Serving. There are many places to serve (i.e. greeters, nursery, children’s church, hospitality, guest services, etc.) Pray about where God may have you. I will be putting together a schedule very soon, so please let me know if you plan on serving and you have not yet signed up.
Don’t forget that we will be having a booth at the BBQ festival. This will be a great way to engage our community to let them know we are here. I am hoping to hand out Bibles, bottles of water, balloons, and even give away a gas grill. Acts of kindness like this will let the community know that we truly care about them. We will also be setting ourselves up as a church in the community that is outward focused.
I also got word that we will be receiving the remaining funds from the KBC. As you may or may not know, The Kentucky Baptist Convention has promised us 100k for the first three years to get started. The original plan was to give us 60k in year one (which we have already received), 30k in year two, and 10k in year three. The KBC has decided to send us the remaining 40k now. The Pastoral Advisory Team has set up a game plan to strategically use these funds by sticking to our current budget. The funds are secured in our Life Community Checking account for the long term strategy on the road to constitution. This strategic plan will help with salaries and the long-term launching and constitution of the church for two years (and any special needs that may arise). As we continue to give and support we will see the road to self-suffiency nearing every day. I have been amazed at the giving and faithfulness of our community. It is nothing short of a miracle and is truly inspirational. I praise God for the faithfulness of LCC!
Church we are on the brink of something great. I am so humbled to be part of this great adventure. I believe God will allow LCC to charter and constitute one day and I believe that we will be a church that starts churches all across our state. Exciting times!
I hope you have a great week! If you ever need anything just let me know. God bless
Pastor Kenny
