10/31/13 Update
Greetings LCC!
I am writing this week’s update a little later than usual, my pc had some complications that were not resolved till yesterday (translation…I had to wait till a new power cord came in the mail!).
We had a great day on Sunday. I am happy to announce the McCarty family, Rachel Simmons, and Bill Fry as they unite with Life Community Church. We are very thankful for them and will pray for them as they will be used greatly in our church. We are also joyful in the baptisms of Jared Ralph, Buddy Ralph, Emily Baughn, Dylan Kirk, Danielle Hutchinson, and Bruce Hutchinson In addition to that; a big thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the Birthday Service. I believe it was a tremendous night for LCC. I was so touched by the crowd and the support that was there on Sunday night. And it is noted…Life Community knows how to cook!
I would also like to remind everyone to keep praying for our church as we press forward with the right space for our administration space/ministry center. Please pray for the Advisory Team and myself as we seek out and step out on faith.
Upcoming Events
- This Sunday we will be having our monthly 101 CLASS. 101 introduces a person to our beliefs, strategy, and statements. 101 is necessary to attend prior to joining the church, but you are obligated. We like people to attend and then prayerfully think through next stages for them and their family. 101 begins at 2:45 @ The Logsdon Center, located behind the Springs Medical Center and will last for a little over 2 hours. Child Care will be provided. If you plan on attending please respond back and let me know.
- Outreach to KWC Athletes-will be feeding the teams on Tuesday Dec 17th, Monday Dec 30th, Monday January 6th, and Tuesday January 14th. I am encouraging our Life Groups to officially adopt one of those days.
- As you noted in the bulletin, our next church wide event will be our chili cook off. As with any event, we want it be missional in it’s nature. What does missional mean? It means that we make it part of the mission of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. I challenge you to invite an unchurched friend with you to the chili cook off and I promise you the Gospel will be presented in a non-threatening way. In addition to it being a lot of fun, we may be able to connect with someone who otherwise may never come to church, but may come to a chili cook off….plus I’m excited to see who is going to take home the coveted CHILI COOK OFF CHAMPIONISHIP ARPON!
- We will be having an informational meeting (TBA in the bulletin on Sunday) about our summer mission trip to New York City. This will be a come and learn meeting to figure out if this trip is for you or not. Already be praying about this.
God Bless!
