10/8/15 Weekly Update (Campaign Edition and Testimony)

Off

Greetings LCC!

I am still amazed at what God is doing in our church through this Fall Growth campaign. We were excited to see two more professions of faith this previous Sunday. We are looking forward to baptizing many during our birthday service on October 25th. I am also very excited to not only see public professions of how God is moving but to also hear and see how God is moving in The Life Groups. It’s been very encouraging to hear all of the great reports of spiritual growth and community. If you are not part of a Life Group, please take time to get involved in one.

On Sunday evening we were very excited to see Carl Cole ordained into the Deacon Ministry. It was a very touching night and all those who came were spiritually blessed. Remember, our Deacons are an extension of my ministry here at LCC and they are ready to serve you and to help you as you need.

At the bottom of this email will be another campaign testimony. So read through the quick announcements and make sure to read the testimony. God bless

  • Trail of Treats is coming! We will be having a “minion” themed candy booth. We are currently collecting 5,000 pieces of candy, so please bring bags of unopened candy to church at the Guest Services table.
  • Kids Life and youth will be back at The Logsdon this upcoming Sunday night 6:30pm
  • Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are in full swing. We have boxes available at the Ministry center for Life Group leaders to pick up for their groups. Since we are competing first come first served! Just remember that you can use normal shoe boxes or plastic boxes as well. This will be a great ministry.
  • Our Birthday Service will be held at Crosspointe Baptist Church on October 25th. This will mark the end of year 3 since we launched. Even though we chartered last year, we count the day we first began having public services.
  • CLASS 101 will be held THIS SUNDAY! If you are praying about becoming a member of LCC I would like to encourage you to come at 2:45. Class 101 is held at our ministry center, located at 3271 Alvey Park Dr. Suite H).

God bless!

Campaign Testimony

I grew up in church. I always knew that Jesus was the answer in this life. In my mind however, it always seemed to easy. I always tried to feel more secure in my faith. I was so focused on what I needed to do to be saved, but what I was missing was that I just needed to trust in Him. All the stuff I worried about was just works. After years of going through the motions, I stepped out onto faith and put my trust in Jesus when I was 18. I still struggle with worry and doubt but he continues to deliver me from that daily. When I was in my twenties I was diagnosed wth OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Suddenly all my worries and doubts made sense to me. Daily my cross, is to relinquish control of my life and overcome the worry and insecurity that comes with that. I have gone through so many peaks and valleys in my faith, but I recognize God never moved away, I did. He is showing me that I’m only as near to him as I allow myself to be. God wants to walk closely with all of us. We just have to be ready for the dramatic life change that comes with that relationship. Everyday he changes my heart in preparation for my transformation. My prayer is that His MOVEMENT continues through me!
