Weekly Update 8/26/15

Greetings LCC!

I am writing today as an encouraged and very excited Pastor. I am so optimistic about what God is doing in this church. We are entering into a season of revival with good stuff coming our way. Let me tell you about some of it.

• This upcoming Saturday we will be hosting our annual “Heartland Block Party” in Heartland Park from 1-4pm. We will have inflatables, games, a dunk tank, and more! The purpose behind the block party is to bless the people of the Heartlands, by being an intentional witness. The outreach team has done a great job in preparing and planning for this. They are asking for all volunteers to arrive on Saturday at 11am to help set up. The outreach team will have a place for you to serve. Remember, this is intended to be a missional community project, so if you know a family in the Heartlands make sure you spread the word. It will be a lot of fun

• Don’t forget to sign up for the upcoming season of serving if you haven’t. I’ve been so impressed with the turn out for this season. Thank you all for using your gifts and for serving your Church and The Lord. It’s exciting to see people serving. Thanks again. • Our annual “Family Meeting” will be held this Sunday night at the Logsdon Community Center 2400 Friendship Dr. The Family meeting will prayerfully discuss and vote to approve by-law amendments, the annual budgets, ministry teams, the addition of a deacon, and for team reporting. We will then have a “Family Dinner”. We ask that you bring your favorite dish that evening.

• Our 2015 Fall Growth Campaign is coming!
  • We are organizing Home prayer groups to meet during the weeks of September 6^th and September 13^th (The 2 weeks before the campaign) to pray for awakening and movement in our church. The desire of the campaign is to reset our focus on The Lord and to ask for his guidance and blessings into our lives. If you are willing to open your house up 2 times (either on a Tuesday or Thursday) for people to come and pray please shoot me an email and let me know or contact Jarrod McCarty.
  • Campaign Kick Off Day will be September 20^th. We are praying to reach 300 in attendance. We have went over 200 in attendance on normal days, so we are praying that we can do this by God’s grace. Be praying about who you will invite and bring with you that day. It will be a great day!

• This Thursday night will be the last night of Summer Bible Study at Wing Ave Baptist Church. Thank you all who came to support SBS. I hope it was a blessing. Try to make it out Thursday night at 6:30 at the Wing Ave. Facilities.
