LCC Weekly Update 6/11/15

Off

Greetings Life Community!

Hope you are having a great week.

I want to begin this weekly update with a word of encouragement. I want to brag on all those who setup and tear down every Sunday. I’m just thinking about all of the great servants, who smile, never complain, and enjoy what they are doing. Every Sunday is truly an amazing experience as we transform The OCTC, Blandford Hall, into a place to worship. As the transformation begins every Sunday at 8am, our faithful servants bring the Holy Spirit with them with every box they bring in, every curtain they hang, and every plug they plug in. This positive and encouraging attitude really sets the stage for when we come and worship. Very proud of all of you who serve!   We are still in limbo about the future of the Rural King building (as we wait for bids, overcome hang ups, etc), but here’s what I know; We will keep serving Jesus with a building or without…..because that’s what matters. Again, so proud of all of our faithful and caring volunteers. And not just the setup crew, but all who greet, love on children, welcome people, hang up signs, pull trailers, and play instruments….you are amazing and God is using you. Thank you for all you do!

Tonight is our second “SUMMER BIBLE STUDY”. Last week was a great success with a great crowd. I hope you can make it out tonight at 6:30, held at the facilities of Wing Ave. Baptist Church. We are praying for a great time in the word. Remember, we have childcare for small children (Kindergarten and down). We also have a pretty good schedule of workers who have graciously signed up to help, but if you would like to help with child care for SBS, then sign up below

A few quick announcements:

This upcoming Saturday, we will be giving away free popsicles and water at Smothers park. We love being in the community and blessing people. If you plan to make it out, where a LCC t-shirt (If you have one). The ministry project will begin at 1pm. We’ll also try to have our prayer stand up, so people will feel free to come and pray.

Next week, our church will also be ministering to the “WORLD CHANGERS” that will be coming to town. “World Changers” is a Christian ministry, where teenagers from around the country, descend onto a city for a week to do construction projects. We will be providing lunches for one of the crews. We currently have three days taken care of. If you would like to help out by serving one of the crews, please let us know by signing up online, or contacting me through email.

Our VBS will be held on the 18th of July. This year we will be doing a one day VBS, due to scheduling at the Logsdon Center. We are still very excited and hope to bless the community. Be on the look out for how to serve on Sunday morning.

Finally, if you have a child that will be going to youth camp this summer; we need all forms turned in now. Money for the middle school camp is due no later than June 21st, and high school camp is due no later than July 5th. The cost is $150 per kid. If you participated in the “Rent a Youth” fundraiser you may see Stephen Keel if you are unsure how much credit you have.

We are truly learning a lot about prayer through this series “BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER”. Join us on Sunday as we continue the series.

God Bless
