Weekly Update: 5/26/15

Greetings Life Community,

I hope all of you had a great Memorial Day Weekend. We are reminded of those brave men and women who gave the ultimate price for our freedom. We also pray for our active military men and women (especially in our own community) that God will protect them, reveal Himself to them, and to bring them back home safe and sound.

We were so thankful on Sunday to be able to baptize Ms. Brittany Payne and Ms. Alexis Sikes. We rejoice in their profession of faith and we pray that their example and testimony will speak to others to follow Christ.

A few quick updates.

  • Next week we begin our “Summer Bible Study”. Life Groups will cease for a few months as we begin this church wide bible study on Thursday nights taught by your Pastor. Summer Bible Study will be held at the facilities of Wing Ave Baptist Church, will be in a congregational type setting, with worksheets/handouts, q and a, and my teaching. It will be a bit more different than how I preach on Sundays and will also be stand alone topics (so if you miss one in the summer time you won’t be behind). We will also have child care for small children and babies. If you would like to help with the small children and babies during this time please let me know so we can get you on a rotation.

  • Church Council will be meeting this upcoming Sunday at 3pm at the ministry center. If you are a team leader of a team please try to make it out or send a representative in your place.

  • Our next CLASS 101 will be held on June 7th at our ministry center.   If you are praying about becoming a member of LCC, would like to know more about baptism or what it means to be a Christian, or would like to know where our church is going or how we are structured we encourage you to come.

  • Our Outreach team has scheduled a summer mission project to hand out free pop-ice in the park on June 13th ( a Saturday). Come out wearing a LCC t-shirt to help bless the kids of Owensboro.

  • A general reminder; Don’t forget about our summer KIDS LIFE program and Youth Ministries. They meet at 6:30 on Sunday nights at the Logsdon Community Center. This is our Sunday night program for our children (essentially their life groups). Prek-12th

  • Also in these summer months remember to keep inviting your friends and family to church with you. I challenge you to meet new people and tell them the good news of Jesus Christ and to bring them to church with you.   If you are traveling this summer keep our online giving option and our online sermons in mind. It’s a great resource to use while on the go;

Have a great week! Remember let’s connect to God through Jesus and the Spirit, Care for the people in our church, and tell people about Jesus to Change their world.

God Bless
