Weekly Update 2/24/17

Off
Greetings Life Community Church,

I would like to begin by praising God for the great “Friends and Family” Day that we had on Sunday.  Thank you to all of our guests who came to worship with us on Sunday morning and for everyone in the church family who invited others to come.

We began a new series called “Hope for the Family” (if you missed the first message you can listen online).  We will be continuing this series for a few more weeks. I would like to encourage you to stick with this series on family, even if you just planned to come on Sunday.  I believe the truth taught in this series can truly save families.  I hope you come back for part 2 of the series next Sunday.

A Few Quick Tidbits

  • The Youth will be hosting a spaghetti luncheon after the service on Sunday morning.  All donations will help our kids go to camp. I would like to encourage you to make lunch plans at LCC to help our kids.
  • Our Mid-Year Family Meeting will be held on Sunday night.  We ask all active members of the church to attend (we are planning on amending the budget, replacing some names on ministry teams that were not able to fulfill their terms, and also bringing forward a name to be considered as a new Deacon in our church.
  • Finally, I wanted to speak briefly about our current worship center.  We are so blessed with our current set up in the gym.  Our Vision Team is doing great work to get together a game plan of flow and some “redemption” ideas for the older worship center, but until then we have a wonderful spot in the gym.  With that said, we want to make sure that we create the best worship environment that we can.  Even though it is in a gymnasium it is still our time to worship God. I would humbly ask that you help out during the worship and sermon portion of our services in a couple of ways.
    • Make sure to leave plenty of room for 1st guests.  If you are a long-time Life Community goer, make sure to set up closer to the front and within the middle that our visitors won’t feel awkward.
    • Also, make sure that we limit distractions as much as possible.  During the worship service we want to keep our focus on The Lord and that means participating in the service.  Try to get your coffee or “other necessities” taken care of before  the worship service, so we can create an environment that helps others focus on The Lord and with less traffic back and forth during the worship and preaching time.  We are a pretty casual church and we are going to stay that way, but we also want to do our part to limit distractions for the sake of seekers and other guests during the worship service.  I know that God wants people to experience powerful worship and to hear life changing truth, so let’s do our part to show everyone how important it is to stay engaged in the service.
I am so excited about what God is doing at our church.  We are continuing to grow and reach new people.  Let’s keep praying for God’s Spirit of revival and awakening to be poured out fresh in our services.  As God continues to move in our midst we will truly become a Connecting, Caring, and Changing Church.

In Christ
