Update July 25th 2017

Off

LCC,

I wanted to take a few moments and share with you about our upcoming Special Call Family meeting on Wednesday, August 2nd (one week from tomorrow).

We were so blessed to be given the amazing gift of a building!  A gift like this was a once in a lifetime opportunity that The Lord graciously and Sovereignly blessed us with.

We are told in James 1:17…

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

We know that the ultimate gift is Jesus Christ, but God continued to show His love for us by blessing us with a debt free facility.  God wants us to take care of this facility and to use it for ministry.  The facility is a “tool” for ministry (not an object of worship but a tool).

Like any tool, you have to take care of it.  An axe can’t chop down a tree if it is dull.  Likewise, the facility cannot be used for it’s full potential unless “the blade is sharpened”.  Again, we do not worship the building nor do we elevate it to an improper status while forgetting the core purposes of the church ( worship, ministry, evangelism, fellowship, and discipleship).  There are times when the facility will require certain attention for ministry, worship, evangelism, fellowship, and discipleship to occur.

Jesus told us…

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”  Luke 14:28

As many of you know, our air conditioner units (all three) are currently out in the older portion of the building.  Our trustees have had several different companies come and look at them and all agree, their day has come and gone.  I would like to commend and thank our trustees for the hard work they have done.  They have gone above and beyond in many areas to help patch the older portion of the building back together, but there is no more “patch” left for the air conditioners.  They are done.

Part of accepting this facility was also counting the cost of obtaining the building.  We knew there would be several repairs and fixes when we were given the building.  We counted the cost, even putting some into an emergency fund in case a crisis did happen.  We have also been very good stewards of our budget and finances.  The units will be no cheap fix but I praise God that we have enough in the general checking to pay for the units without going into debt.  We should praise God for this!

I am reminded of what Paul said to the Church at Philippi…

“And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:19

The Special Call Family meeting will be held on August 2nd after Summer Bible Study. The church council has been informed and the trustees are recommending that we replace the units out of our general checking to get new units put into the older building. Obviously this will cost a lot of money, but not as much money as it would have taken if we would have bought property or built a building of our own.  Again, let’s rejoice that God has provided this for us.

Replacing the units will be critical in many ways.  One exciting way is that it prepares us for worship in the older auditorium.  Our Vision Team has put together a wonderful plan for us to transition into the older auditorium, which you will be hearing about soon.  It is our hope to transition into that building to free up the gym area to become a community ministry center.  These are exciting days we have ahead of us!  Days that I praise God for!

I am thankful to Pastor Life Community Church and look forward to a bright future here.  Thank you for being a wonderful church.  I know you will be praying for our church, will be supportive of the direction that we are going into, and will continue to share Jesus with your lost loved ones while inviting them to the services.

If you have any questions  you can contact our trustees before the meeting.
