5/31/17 Update

Off

Greetings LCC,

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I had the privilege of opening in prayer for the Memorial Day service in Calhoun at the Calhoun Cemetery. It was a great reminder of all of our brave men and women who fought and paid the ultimate price for our country. For that we are so grateful.

Those thoughts also lead me to think about the ultimate price that God paid for our freedom, the death of Jesus Christ. Without the sacrifice of Jesus, we would not and could not be free from the curse of sin and death. I praise the Name of Jesus who paid it all!

A few updates:

A quick NYC Mission Meeting tonight at 6pm, downstairs in the basement of the older building in the large class room (where Carl Cole’s group often meets).

Celebrate Recovery information meeting at 6:30- We are asking the whole church to come and here a presentation about the program and for us to ask God if this be his will for us.

201-401 Make up Classes- If you have not been able to attend one of these classes our deacons will be doing a one make up class next Wednesday. So make sure you make a home run or grow up the vine by completing the LCC Class system.

Special Called Family Meeting on June 11th after services- The Church Council is recommending that we reseal the parking lot (while the weather is good) before winter comes. The parking lot really needs this in order to make sure that it doesn’t break up or is destroyed in the future. The trustees have obtained a bid for the work and will be presenting it on behalf of the church council. (As we expected with inheriting an older building, there would be some much required maintenance that would have to be done).

Summer Bible Study will be beginning on June 14th- Life Groups will be taking a break for Summer Bible study to begin. We will be studying the “purposes of the church and the purposes of our lives” during this summer session. This will be a great time to connect with others and learn from God’s word.

During our last 501 L.I.F.E. (Leadership in Faith and Encouragement) I presented the idea of moving to two services beginning the Sunday after Labor Day. We will be looking for a few families that will make the commitment to stay with the early service for a 6 month trial period and who will be evangelistically driven by inviting new people to the service. As we are prayerfully considering beginning this 9am service, I ask that you would seek The Lord if you are to be one of the “seed families” to begin this new service. If you were not at the 501 L.I.F.E. meeting you can download the presentation by clicking here.

I love being the pastor of Life Community Church and I love you!

Kenny Rager
